Trending on social media for the better part of the 15th of April 2021, Eunice, a Grade 4 pupil identified as Peris Chabet who scored 403 marks in the recently released Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) result decided to speak up after the mistaken fame.
For many days now her picture bearing the name Peris Chebet has been making rounds on social media platforms drawing much attention by its caption that the little girl attained 403 marks.
The picture of 10-year-old Eunice Wangoya in uniform that well describes her poor social background was captured during face mask donations at a school in Nairobi's Mukuru Kwa Njenga estate.
Her mother termed the incident as a humiliation to her family adding that they have been struggling to make ends meet. She regretted that someone chose to expose her nakedness on social media for selfish gains.
"For those people who lied and said she is Peris Chebet...it's very bad to use a child's image. That is tarnishing child's name because emotionally she was she was very bitter."
The situation remains equally needed to the young girl with pertinent hope that education will be shining positive progressively in the days to come.
